I had the joy this past weekend of watching my Michigan Wolverines beat the Tennessee Volunteers to advance to the Final Four. Pour one out for our Tennessean managing editor, Michael Reneau.
The Wolverines next play the Arizona Wildcats tomorrow night, and if (when) they win, they will play either Illinois or UConn in the championship. Here’s the rub: I’m flying into Connecticut Monday for a reporting trip. I’d love to go to a bar in Hartford to watch the game, but I also can see why that would be a bad idea if UConn also wins on Saturday. We’ll see. I guess if you’re not willing to endure threats to your personal safety for your favorite team, are you really even a fan?
As for what I’m going to Connecticut for, I shouldn’t say yet, but I think it’ll be a very good story. Connecticut readers, send some food recs in the replies.
