‘Stars and Stripes’ are a celebration,
As the wind unfurls our banner.
The grand old flag of our nation,
Makes us ponder things that matter.
She flies high upon tall buildings,
Never misses a parade,
Riders mounted on strong geldings,
Are assigned to let her wave.
She commands a firm salute,
For the history she has made.
There can be no dispute,
By her, many lives have been saved.
She represents the very best,
Of mankind’s struggle to survive.
Life, liberty, and happiness,
Are goals we strive to keep alive.
The bravest men have sacrificed,
Their property and sacred honor.
Not for their own accolades,
But for The Light that dawns upon her.
So, stand and make a smart salute,
A gesture of due deference.
Today, let there be no dispute,
Protect her with great reverence.
