Ashley Harrison Lawson is an accomplished advocate and communications professional with over 20 years of experience in strategic business development, governmental relations, and legislative policy. As Missouri State Chapter President of Eagle Forum, Ashley draws on her deep-rooted values, professional expertise, and passion for family-centered initiatives to lead one of the nation’s foremost pro-family organizations.
Ashley grew up in rural Missouri on a gravel road surrounded by cattle, chickens, and a close-knit family. Homeschooled and guided by the values instilled by her parents—her father was a pastor—Ashley learned from an early age the importance of integrity, faith, and hard work. At just five years old, she started her first business selling eggs to a local café, demonstrating entrepreneurial determination and strong negotiation skills.
Ashley credits her grandmother, a commissioned artist and one of the first female draftsmen hired by Southwestern Bell, as a powerful influence. Her grandmother’s trailblazing career in a male-dominated field and her ability to balance professional excellence with creativity inspired Ashley to pursue leadership roles and community engagement.
Ashley’s advocacy work intensified when one of her sons was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Determined to provide him with the best support, she became certified as a Special Education Advocate through the U.S. Department of Education, a program equivalent in rigor and scope to a master’s degree. She further earned a certification as a Special Education Mentor from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. These achievements equipped her with advanced skills in communication, negotiation, and navigating federal and state education systems.
Ashley’s involvement with Eagle Forum began during the COVID-19 pandemic when she attended the organization’s “Groundswell” event in St. Louis. Recognizing the vital role of grassroots efforts in defending faith and family values, she became an active supporter and later assumed the role of Missouri State Chapter President. In this role, Ashley focuses on equipping grassroots organizations with the tools they need to thrive, including strategic planning, public relations, and fostering collaborative relationships.
Ashley resides in St. Louis, Missouri, with her husband, their five sons, and a lively household that includes a dog, a cat, and the occasional wildlife in need of care. She enjoys immersing her family in nature, art, and history and is committed to promoting a society rooted in faith, family, and community.
