This first week, we found ourselves covering a U.S. war to neutralize Iran, the first primary contests of the 2026 midterm elections that unfolded in North Carolina, Texas and elsewhere—and on Thursday, President Donald Trump’s announcement that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem had been sacked, and will be replaced by Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma. We can only wonder what’s on tap for next week.
