Introducing Dispatch Voiced – The Dispatch Staff

We’re excited to introduce Dispatch Voiced, a new feature that will make it easier for members to take The Dispatch’s journalism with them on the go. With two members-only feeds—one for Editor’s Picks and one for The Morning DispatchDispatch Voiced sends high-quality audio versions of our biggest stories and most engaging newsletters directly to your podcast player of choice, where you can add them to your queue, save your place, adjust the playback speed, and more.

As The Dispatch has grown our offerings, we’ve heard from more and more readers who wish they had more time to read all of the articles and newsletters we’re publishing on a daily basis. With Dispatch Voiced, we want to fit our reporting and analysis around your schedule. You might not have 30 minutes to sit at your computer and read Kevin D. Williamson’s reporting from Los Angeles on the Trump administration’s immigration raids, but maybe you have enough time to listen to it while grocery shopping, commuting to the office, on the treadmill at the gym, or walking the dog.

Most audio featured in Dispatch Voiced feeds will be generated using advanced AI technology, designed to recreate the intonation, pacing, and inflection of an audiobook narrator. It will occasionally mispronounce a word, but it’s pretty darn good—and will only improve over time as we build out its library with Dispatch content. Plus, some pieces will occasionally feature authors reading their own work as well.
