In some cities, it has been a summer of riots. From coast to coast, activists have been impeding traffic, spraying graffiti on private property, and looting small businesses all because they are mad at President Donald Trump and dislike his policies. These actors are directly seeking out names and locations of ICE agents and members of the Trump administration, a practice called “doxing.”. Many of us wonder how they have so much time on their hands. Simply put, they are receiving paychecks from federally funded organizations and billionaires in our country who seek to attack our values and destroy our very nation.
Los Angeles has been a cesspool of violent Leftist mobs for months now. These events are full of open borders and antisemitic rhetoric, while the protestors wave Mexican and Palestinian flags. When city officials could not control the rioters, the Trump administration sent the National Guard to help, which, to no one’s surprise, the California democrats opposed. The Los Angeles Mayor’s curfew was merely a slap on the wrist. Now, the city is facing a $30 million cleanup bill.
A California-based company called Crowds on Demand told Fox News that they have received a high influx of requests to mobilize protestors for the Los Angeles riots. Those submitting proposals to them are offering large amounts of money. Fortunately, Crowds on Demand declined to participate due to the high level of violence and illegal activities.
In June, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), who sits on the Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism, opened an investigation into some of these possible entities that are pouring money into the riots. He sent letters to the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, Party for Socialism and Liberation, and Union del Barrio seeking their financial records to see if they funded the disruptive activity. His letters state:
Let me be clear: Bankrolling civil unrest is not protected speech. It is aiding and abetting criminal conduct.
The House Judiciary Committee has matched the Senate’s sentiments with a similar investigation into the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights. They found that the organization received nearly $1 million in federal grants under the Biden administration from 2021 to 2023 and an additional $34 million in grants, mostly from the state of California, in 2023 alone. There is no doubt that the organization’s participation in these riots was possible because of our taxpayer dollars!
In addition, the House Oversight Committee has found ties between the riots and the Communist Chinese Party (CCP). United States billionaire Neville Singham has been a large donor to the Party for Socialism and Liberation. This organization has orchestrated many of the violent protests. Singham has bankrolled other violent activities through movements like Code Pink and the National Students for Justice in Palestine. However, Singham lives in China, which raises even more concern. Members of the Oversight Committee have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate his financial dealings domestically and abroad to expose any illegal activity that is hurting our nation.
This month, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) will introduce a legislative solution to these riots: defund them altogether. The Stop FUNDERs Act will qualify “rioting” as a racketeering predicate offense under current law under the Anti-Riot Act. Also, it frees up tools that the Department of Justice can use under the 1970 Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, such as asset forfeiture and conspiracy charges. Billionaires and organizations that financially fuel this type of violence will be hit with charges of fraudulent business dealings.
In cities where these riots are encouraged and enabled, no one is safe. That’s why the federal government must seek out the root of these problems and disable the pipeline of money from those who hate our country. We encourage the Senate to move forward on Sen. Cruz’s bill swiftly.
Some of the most vulnerable minds who have been brainwashed to engage in these riots are kids and young adults. Eagle Forum offers the Student Eagles program in multiple states so that our youth can be equipped on how to research and critically think about our government. We invite students and young adults to join us this year at Eagle Council 53 in Washington, D.C. Eagles from across the nation with gather to not only learn more about these important issues but to lobby their Members of Congress and spend time with Administration officials. Students receive discounted registrations, and scholarships are available. To find more information, check out our website here.
